Complimenting Russ Vogt’s ceramic works are the artist’s multi-hued landscape paintings. These flamboyant landscapes are fields of intense color characteristic of stained glass. This non-traditional use of color and composition is suggestive of Matisse. His signature use of saturated brush strokes in jewel tones is meant to celebrate the pleasures of the eye.
Vogt's loose and animated painting style translates nicely onto ceramic sculptures and mosaic tables at Russ Vogt Sculpture.
