Russ Vogt's landscapes are fields of intense color characteristic of stained glass. Color and composition are nontraditional, suggesting the early work of Matisse. His flamboyant, loosely painted work is meant to celebrate the pleasures of the eye. His animated painting style is also translated onto ceramic sculptures and mosaic tables at Russ Vogt Sculpture.
