Sofia Arnold‘s paintings explore connections among humans, animals, geography and the world we live in. Combining fantastical, anthropomorphic characters with humanoids and placing them in outdoor settings in unsettling situations challenges the viewer to understand her motives of composition and content.
Sofia Arnold is exhibiting work in Generation Next in the Frederick Layton Gallery at the Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design, now through December 10th. She will be giving a lecture on her work on Tuesday, November 8th at 6:30 pm. MIAD is located at 273 E. Erie Street in Milwaukee’s Historic Third Ward.
