Laura Dronzek paints tranquil scenes and serene still lifes. Her latest landscapes are seaside environs in an array of hues. Her pristine shell paintings take the viewer on a visual retreat, free of disturbances. Using a real place or object as a starting point, the finished work is far from the real seascape or shell as the artist reinvents each image, capturing only its essence. The artist is a two-time Wisconsin Arts Board grant winner and a Wisconsin Academy artist. Her work is in the collections of the Madison Museum of Contemporary Art, Madison, WI, the Gardener Art Gallery, Stillwater, OK, and the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
"For me, it is the mystery found in the commonplace, the extraordinary in the ordinary, that is worth examining." -"Laura Dronzek
