The Tory Folliard Gallery is pleased to debut the works of Wisconsin painter and children's book illustrator, Laura Dronzek. Dronzek's fictive landscapes are stripped down environs where a sleeping creature dreams beside a single tree or pond. Her latest paintings host birds perched in a quiet state, finding solace in a world free of human disturbances. The artist is a two-time Wisconsin Arts Board grant winner and a Wisconsin Academy artist. Her work is in the collections of the Madison Museum of Contemporary Art, Madison, WI, the Gardener Art Gallery, Stillwater, OK, and the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
"For me, it is the mystery found in the commonplace, the extraordinary in the ordinary, that is worth examining." -"Laura Dronzek
