New Mexico native, Susan Stamm Evans began creating delicate female figures in porcelain and gradually moved into powerful bronze sculptures. Her posed figures, always introspective and intimate in scale, evoke unexpected emotional responses. The great physical presence of her large fragmented bronze faces demands a response far beyond the simplicity of the object. The face becomes an abstract form, compelling yet familiar. The artist’s latest series of porcelain works are minimalist illustrations of human connections. The artist has enjoyed over fourteen solo and thirty group and invitational exhibitions throughout the U.S..
