Bethann Moran-Handzlik
Viewing Room
Bethann Moran-Handzlik's paintings investigate the beauty of the natural world. A plein air artist, Bethann paints directly from nature throughout the year.
Bethann's preferred medium is oil, which lends a discernable quality of truth to her painting. Her contemplative process and effortless use of paint mark the change in weather, season, and light, as seen in her sweeping gardenscape painting featured above. It can take weeks or months for her to complete a single painting.
Bethann received an MFA from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and a BA from St. Norbert College. Her work is exhibited and collected nationally and internationally. She is a recipient of the Hudson River Fellowship, Grand Central Atelier, NY, and La Napoule Artist Foundation Residency, La Napoule, France. She has taught at Skidmore College, Saratoga Springs, NY, and the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater.
