Chris Zak is a painter who explores body language and subtle human expression through portraiture. Engaging closely with his subjects, he looks beyond their physical appearance to capture their personal identity in the work. Zak creates portraits that invite viewers to connect with the emotional undercurrents of each work through deliberate eye contact and considered poses. His approach offers a contemporary perspective on portraiture, revealing how emotion and individuality can be expressed through the nuances of gesture and gaze.

Zak holds a BFA in Painting and Drawing from the University of Wisconsin–Madison and has exhibited in both group and solo shows across Wisconsin. Portrait commissions are available upon request.
