Claire Kellesvig
Claire Kellesvig’s paintings are intuitive, imagined landscapes, built on emotional exploration through play and spontaneity, with an emphasis on the expansion and contraction of Linear time. The creation of this work served as both a confrontation and an escape from memories and emotions, allowing the artist to journey through feelings via color and texture. Figures and animal imagery are woven throughout, guiding the viewer to explore the paintings and make each piece their psychological sanctuary.
Claire Kellesvig is a painter and curator living in Madison, WI. She graduated from Rhode Island School of Design with a BFA in painting in 2011, and an MFA in painting and drawing from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2022, where she currently teaches as a lecturer.
