Rodger Bechtold

The quiet beauty of the Midwest can sometimes be overlooked as unspectacular. But as anyone who spends time in fields, along tree lines or in the woods knows, it's not always what you see, but how it makes you feel. Slowly disappearing, family farm buildings have organic qualities that converse so clearly with the landscape. We are losing something wonderful. And I think it’s time we found it again. My paintings are both celebration and requiem, each preserving the essence of the inspiration as well as carrying a bit of my soul.

Exuberant color and painterly interpretations of place and moment are the trademarks of Rodger Bechtold’s midwestern scenes. An accomplished landscape painter for over 50 years, Rodger Bechtold studied art at the American Academy of Art in Chicago and the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. In addition, he studied with well-known painter, Wolf Kahn while attending The Masters Art Program at the Santa Fe Institute of Fine Arts, Santa Fe, NM.

Bechtold’s paintings have been featured in museum exhibitions and can be found in private and public collections across the United States.
