El Gato Chimney, a Milan-based artist,creates a surreal history of imagined animal kingdoms, a deceptive world full of symbols awaiting deciphering. Inspired by folklore, magic, alchemy, occultism, ancient and modern art, as well as primitive art and spiritualism, Chimney develops a unique sense of storytelling where the very borders of his paintings resemble the antiquated pages of a codex illuminated with pictorial spells.
