October 26, 2:30 - 3:30 pm: Fred Stonehouse in Conversation with Guzzo Pinc

The Tory Folliard Gallery is pleased to present Fred Stonehouse / Signs and Wonders.

Known for his rebellious and exquisitely crafted paintings, Wisconsin artist Fred Stonehouse's sophisticated style draws on diverse cross-cultural influences and the spirit of outsider art. Signs and Wonders explores the unique and evocative blend of memory, mythology, and surrealism that has become Stonehouse's hallmark, offering viewers a glimpse into a world where the extraordinary meets the everyday.

A major figure in Wisconsin art, Stonehouse has enjoyed over fifteen museum exhibitions including retrospectives at the Museum of Wisconsin Art and Madison Museum of Contemporary Art. His work can be found in the collections of the Milwaukee Art Museum, Museum of Wisconsin Art, San Jose Art Museum, Chazen Museum of Art, Tacoma Art Museum, Madison Museum of Contemporary Art, among others. Tory Folliard Gallery has represented Fred Stonehouse since 2002.

In conjunction with the exhibition, a Signs and Wonders catalog has been created highlighting the featured paintings and drawings accompanied by an essay written by the artist.
