The Tory Folliard Gallery is pleased to present Bethann Moran Handzlik / In the Open Air, an exhibition of landscape and still life paintings that celebrate the beauty of nature. This is her first solo exhibition at the Gallery, and it features twenty new paintings.

A plein air artist, Bethann Moran Handzlik paints directly from nature year-round. Her preferred medium, oil paint, lends a discernable quality of truth to her work. The transparency, opacity, and ability for the paint to be worked and reworked inform the slow, observational approach to Moran Handzlik’s artwork. Her experience of the natural world is woven into the paintings that she makes.

Moran Handzlik received a BA from St. Norbert College and an MFA from the University of Wisconsin- Milwaukee and was the recipient of the Hudson River Fellowship Award, among other honors. Her award-winning paintings have been exhibited nationally and can be found in private and public collections across the country.
