The paintings of TD Brenner draw inspiration from his favorite artists Henri Matisse, Vincent Van Gogh, and Philip Guston. Working with vibrant acrylic paint, Brenner incorporates subjects from everyday life in his paintings. Like Philip Guston, Brenner has created his own personal vocabulary of images such as dogs, rulers, and sweaters, which appear as recurring themes in different arrangements in his work.
Born in Milwaukee, Brenner has a BFA from the University of Wisconsin - Oshkosh and his MFA from the University of Wisconsin - Madison.
