Caitlin Lempia-Bradford's artwork blends her passions for patterns, games, science fiction, and mathematics. While her work is grounded in play, it gravitates toward these systems because of the poetic potential found in structure, sequence, and repetition. Caitlin is fascinated by both the long and short cycles that emerge, as well as the unexpected anomalies that surface during the creation process. Her paintings embrace imperfection and chaos, highlighting irregularity and soft geometry.

Caitlin Lempia-Bradford received a BFA from the University of Iowa in 2015 and an MFA in painting and drawing from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2022.

By giving over some agency, I’m able to be surprised. Using this process, there are an infinite number of choices; I celebrate the choices I make while mourning the choices not made.
