The Suitcase Show presents Michael Hedges’ new series of small paintings under 36”.

Applying paint with bursts of energy, Hedges creates richly textured surfaces charged with vibrant color. While his paintings explore bold color relationships, they remain carefully balanced through form and structure. In this new body of work, Hedges shifts scale and proportion, focusing on small paintings that bring a more intimate perspective to his dynamic and expressive approach to color and form. 

A native of Illinois, Hedges studied at the Art Institute of Chicago before receiving his B.A. in Studio Art from Loras College in Dubuque.  His paintings are in public and private collections throughout the United States.
