Drawings by Swedish artist Erika Nordqvist communicate rich human experiences through the most basic of artist’s materials. Nordqvist begins with loosely sketched lines that gain confidence as her figures and their surroundings emerge, until finally revealing a complete drawing. Visible erasure marks hint at every stage of the work. The relationship between a mundane everyday existence and an exotic imagined life is expressed by introspective human figures in domestic and natural settings.
