Albrecht-Kemper Museum of art adds Robert Cocke to permanent collection
Robert Cocke's painting REALM has been added to the permanent collection of the Albrecht-Kemper Museum of Arts (AKMA) in ST. Joseph, MO. AKMA serves as the only nationally accredited museum dedicated to arts education and promoting emerging artists in the four-state region (northwest Kansas, northwest Missouri, southeast Nebraska, and southwest Iowa). The AKMA is known for its community-centered arts initiatives, making the work of Robert Cocke a perfect fit due to his interest in the intersection between Nature, environment, and objects. Cocke’s intimate paintings are like looking through enchanted keyholes and finding a magical world of wondrous beauty. Elements of the natural world are arranged into unnatural formations and improbable combinations resulting in surrealistic landscapes. Currently living and working in Arizona, Cocke is awed and inspired by the mystery of nature and the enchantment of light.
